Jorja Emerson Centre Patient Statement 15 August 2024

Jorja Emerson Centre Patient Statement.

Dear Patients

We want to address certain rumours circulating on social media around the current processing of prescriptions.

We recognise that we are behind on a number of prescriptions and for this we understand the frustration of patients and we apologise for any concerns this has caused.

There have been several unforeseen circumstances mainly caused by lack of certain cannabis medications within pharmacies causing the need for prescription rewrites that has caused this backlog. This has now been rectified.

We can assure you that the team are working extremely hard to bring all outstanding prescriptions up to date in the coming days.

However, we must also at this time address some other items.

Most important to note is that Jorja Emerson Centre (Part of Jorja Healthcare) is NOT a cannabis clinic. We provide a wide range of private healthcare services that include GP Appointments, Paediatrics, Diagnostic Services, Orthobiologics Treatments and General Surgery. Accordingly, we follow very strict procedures and we do this in the best interests of patient safety and in accordance with the regulations of CQC and other relevant government bodies.

What does this mean?

This means we will not participate in the practices currently being carried out by certain “Cannabis Clinics” including changing flower products on the personal preference of a patient! Any changes to prescriptions are done at the discretion of the clinician with an additional fixed cost for a consultation.

As many of our patients are aware, the Jorja Emerson Centre was established in the name of our managing director’s daughter after he, along with other parents, fought tirelessly to allow medical cannabis to be made available to patients in the UK. His work, and the work of other parents at that time, was not done to allow backdoor recreational drug prescribing in the UK. We strongly support the new government body set up to tackle this problem and look forward to assisting them in establishing an extensive framework of guidelines throughout the UK.

Additionally, we’d like to remind our patients that we have a strict zero tolerance policy on harassment toward our staff members.

We will not provide any comment on any rumours or speculation from various internet sources or groups. Our focus remains on patient safety and providing accurate and verified information through official channels when appropriate.

The Jorja Healthcare Group is 100% patient focused and if any patient requires any help or further information please contact our team directly, by contacting: hello@jorjahealthcare.com

Thank you for your continued support

The Board at Jorja Healthcare.
